NAIDOC Week 2025
3 July 2025
NAIDOC Week was celebrated with great community spirit across the school, bringing students, staff, families, and local Elders together to honour and celebrate the rich cultures, histories, and achievements of First Nations peoples. The week began with a powerful Smoking Ceremony led by Uncle Elvis, whose storytelling helped set the tone for reflection, respect, and connection to Country.
One of the highlights of the celebrations was the preschool performance. Our youngest learners shared songs and movements they had been practising, expressing their understanding and appreciation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures with joy and confidence. Their performance brought smiles to the crowd and showcased the meaningful learning taking place in the early years.
Stage 2 and Stage 3 proudly presented an exhibition honouring prominent First Nations people. Their artworks and written pieces highlighted leaders, artists, athletes, activists, and knowledge holders. The exhibition allowed students to deepen their understanding of the impact of these individuals, and it provided the wider community with an opportunity to celebrate their stories.
